The George Springer Show is on tonight

After losing to the Royals last night, the Astros designated the losing starting pitcher Lucas Harell for assignment. Then they subsequently called up their top hitting prospect George Springer in hopes of jump-starting their lifeless offense. They sent Robbie Grossman back to the minors to make room for Springer. This is too bad for the Royals because Grossman misplayed almost every ball the Royals hit to him last night.

The Royals offense, while similarly lifeless, does not have the luxury of calling up a top hitting prospect because THEY TRADED THEIRS AWAY TWO YEARS AGO. And now that Robbie Grossman will not be helping the Royals, it seems that the Astros have a slight advantage going into the game. Unless Springer flops around like he does below:

No matter what happens, I think it will be an exciting game. Jeremy Guthrie, who has the most losses (79) in the MLB since 2009, takes the mound for the Royals after winning his first 2 starts. I have always liked Guthrie, especially since he relieved us of having to watch Jonathan Sanchez. If there is one former Royal I genuinely hate, it is Jonathan Sanchez. That guy was just awful. My fiancĂ© took me to a Royals vs. Twins game in Minneapolis for my birthday a few years ago, and that idiot was pitching. HE RUINED MY 30TH BIRTHDAY BY PITCHING LIKE A JERKFACE AND HE LET THE STUPID TWINS WIN. ON MY BIRTHDAY. That guy has no class.

Anyway, I would recommend tuning in to watch Springer’s debut tonight.

In other news, I was reading through facebook this morning, and was presented with the gem below:

Dear facebook, NO the Cleveland Indians, San Diego Padres, Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers are not similar to the Kansas City Royals. In fact, they could not be more dissimilar. For example, the Twins  and Indians have had movies made about how crappy they are. The Royals will never be reduced to that level of shame. The Tigers are in a city that is declining while Kansas City is thriving. And the San Diego Padres are as bad as the Astros and used to wear the uniforms below. Not sure how one can play baseball while looking like a disgusting banana.

So I will politely decline to “Like” any of those pages. It is times like these that facebook would do well to add a “Dislike” button, and maybe a “Your Team Sucks” button. How fun would that be?

Go Royals.
