It only took 9 seasons after winning it all in 2015, but the Royals are back in the playoffs! It was beginning to feel like they would never get there again, but thanks to a young man by the name of Robert Witt, Jr. the Second, the Boys are playing some Postseason Ball!
Just look at this man, double beer bottles strapped to his head... what a boss:
The Royals are the first team to make the playoffs after losing 106 games the previous season. Read that again and consider the ridiculousness of that statement. An astounding turnaround. The team struggled all season with consistency on offense and a bullpen that they can only sometimes rely on, but thanks to the Twins choking and the Orioles doing some work, Kansas City will get a taste of Blue October once again.
Hopefully we don't need extra innings and a miracle hit from Salvy to win a playoff game this year!
